Man Utd rolls dice again and comes up with Donaco

Donaco

August 20 – English Premier League giants Manchester United are on a good run in the betting and gaming business, announcing Donaco as the club’s first Official Casino Resort Partner in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and South Korea.

Earlier this month the club unveiled a multi-year deal with Marathonbet who became the Manchester United’s Official Global Betting Partner, excluding China and the US. Marathonbet took over from bwin who paid £2.4 million for a three-season deal starting with the 2012-13 season. In March bwin launched an online bwin Manchester United Casino.

The value of the Donaco partnership has not been announced.

Donaco is a casino resort company that was founded in 2002 and operates leisure and entertainment businesses across the Asia Pacific region. It’s premium properties are the Star Vegas Resort & Club in Cambodia and the five-star Aristo International Hotel casino resort complex in Vietnam.

The sponsorship is focussed on reaching Man Utd’s fans in the region – reckoned to be 325 million across Asia – with activation of the deal through the use of exclusive club content and branding.

Donaco Managing Director, Joey Lim comments: “Donaco takes great pride in its commitment to delivering best-in-class casino resorts to our customers in Asia.

“Through our partnership with Manchester United, we look forward to delivering compelling marketing campaigns to better engage with our customers and fans and help expedite our growth and footprint across the region.”

Manchester United Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold, said: “This is a significant partnership for Manchester United, with Donaco being our first ever Official Casino Resort Partner in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and South Korea. We are looking forward to working with Donaco and bringing the excitement of Manchester United to our millions of fans in these countries.”

For Man Utd fans tempted by a trip to one of the resorts but who are not confident in their gaming abilities, they can warm up via the club’s social casino games app with KamaGames – a soft gaming partnership the club announced in February where punters can play but there are no cash prizes or pots.

While the club was winning big at the casino yesterday, it lost out in the battle to win Barcelona star Pedro who was whipped away by some smart card-playing by London rivals Chelsea. You win some, you lose some in football.
