Arsenal open gap on Chelsea in Twitter table, West Ham get vocal

September 4 – The last week has seen another boost in Twitter followers to Premier League clubs with a growth of 210,392 across all clubs compared to 196,493 the week before.

Manchester United again put on more than twice their nearest rivals while Arsenal repeated the weekly trend and extended their lead over Arsenal.

The difference between Arsenal and Chelsea increased from 226,918 to 234,660, whilst the difference between Arsenal and Manchester United came down from 391,806 to 313,779.

The difference between Man Utd and Chelsea’s total following is now down to 79,119. At current growth rates Man Utd can be expected to overtake Chelsea in the total followers table be the end of the month.

At the bottom of the followers table Bournemouth are showing the biggest percentage growth closing in on Watford.

In a week that saw an away win at Liverpool and four new players signed on transfer deadline day, West Ham topped the number of tweets made table with 408. Newcastle United were bottom with 117.
