August 9 – Watch James’ Rodriguez’s Colombia play Peru international friendly live on Insideworldfootball today. A rematch of their meeting at the Copa America this summer, the match, being played in the Red Bull Stadium in New York, is live on insideworldfootball at http://bit.ly/1OubYJQ. Kick off is 8pm EST, 1am UK.
At the Copa America this summer Los Cafeteros started as one of the favorites to win the title after a meteoric rise at the 2014 World Cup, but lost their opener against Venezuela.
They then picked up the pace with a 1-0 win over Brazil before drawing with tinights opponents Peru 0-0, and qualifying for the next round in second place in the group.
Colombia finished third at Copa America having been knocked out in the semi-finals by a rampant Argentina.
Tonight’s match on current individual form promises a re-energised Colombia. Rodriguez who top scored at the World Cup with six goals was in scoring form for Real Madrid last week against Real Betis with two goals.
Radamel Falcao, now at Chelsea after a miserable season at Manchester United, is also showing signs that he has regained confidence and touch.
Meanwhile at the back brilliant goalkeeper David Ospina is hard to beat.
Colombia were open about their disappointment at the Copa America but have vowed to get back on track. That may be bad news for Peru.
