November 17 – FIFA may be under fire from its existing US sponsors but its properties still have attraction for marketers. Rinnai, the Japanese-headquartered tankless water heater manufacturer and distributor has signed on as an official sponsor of FIFA Club World Cup 2015, being held December 10 – 20 2015 in Japan.
As part of its sponsorship, Rinnai’s logo will be showcased on the field’s perimeter, where it will be seen by millions of viewers on TV broadcasts in 219 countries across the world. Additionally, the logo will appear on event signage during the games, as well as displayed on the official FIFA website and on printed marketing materials for the event.
No figure has been released for the value of the sponsorship.
According to Rinnai, the “FIFA Club World Cup, the largest international men’s association soccer competition, is one of the most watched events organised FIFA.”
Susan Mittelbrun, Vice President of Marketing at Rinnai America Corporation commented on the new deal saying: “Rinnai has a long history of sponsoring a variety of competitive sports as an effective way to reach homeowners, dealers and installers.”
Rinnai’s recent sponsorships include the ISU World Figure Skating Championships and NASCAR driver Cole Whitt.
Incorporated in 1920, Rinnai has sales offices in 86 countries globally including Australia, Brazil, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, New Zealand, China, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and the United States.
The 2015 FIFA Club World Cup will feature clubs including River Plate, Barcelona, TP Mazembe, Club América and Auckland City as well as the winners of the 2015 AFC Champions League and of the 2015 J1 League.
