April 19 – MATCH Hospitality, the FIFA Hospitality Programme rights holder, has launched a global Invitation to Tender (ITT) process for companies interested in becoming official and exclusive agents of hospitality for the 2013 Confederations Cup and 2014 World Cup in their respective countries.
Those companies who are successful in the ITT process will be licenced to sell a range of packages tailored specifically to their host countries during the tournaments, being held in Brazil.
Jaime Byrom, MATCH Hospitality’s executive chairman, said: “MATCH Hospitality has created a variety of Official Commercial Hospitality Packages that befit the status of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ Brazil.
“By launching a global and transparent ITT process, MATCH Hospitality is ensuring that football fans across the world have access to a wide product range that is competitive in content and pricing through a global network of qualified and experienced sales agents.
“We are now in the process of inviting bids from qualified and experienced companies who wish to market and sell these packages on an exclusive basis in their respective countries.”
To participate, companies must formally register an interest by Thursday (April 21).
MATCH will then review the bids, notifying those successful of the next stages, with the final announcements due to be made by the end of July this year.
Byrom confirmed that interest is high in the programme, and added that MATCH “expect another strong upsurge in interest when we launch global sales activity of the Official Commercial Hospitality Packages on 1 September 2011.”
