April 30 – Thierry Henry will return to the Emirates Stadium with New York Red Bulls as Arsenal announced the line-up for the 2011 Emirates Cup.
Boca Juniors, whose numbers include star playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme, and Paris St Germain, who are also sponsored by Emirates, will join Arsenal for the July tournament.
Tickets for the two day competition, taking place on July 30 and 31, will be £25 for the whole day.
Two games take place each day, with kick off times at 2pm and 4.20pm.
The tournament has a unique points scoring format, with clubs winning points for each goal they score in order to encourage attacking football, and if teams are level, shots on target are used to determine the winner.
Arsenal has also announced a three year extension to its deal with Emirates to sponsor the tournament.
Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis said: “We’re delighted and proud to once again be hosting the Emirates Cup this summer.
“Over the previous four years, the Emirates Cup has proved to be an overwhelming success and a thoroughly enjoyable weekend of football.
“Nearly half a million supporters have now come to Emirates Stadium to attend the Emirates Cup in the four years, and the tournament is now recognised around the world as a prestigious pre-season event.”
Maurice Flanagan, Executive Vice Chairman, Emirates Airline and Group added: “The Emirates Cup is an integral part of our long-term partnership with Arsenal Football Club and a relationship of which we are extremely proud.”
