June 21 – Premier League Liverpool are reporting that they only have 200 season tickets left for their new ‘Anfield Dugout’ hospitality are in the revamped stadium that opens for the 2016/17 season.
Liverpool are increasing the capacity of Anfield via the development of its main stand which will increase ground capacity to 54,000.
Ticket prices for the revamped Anfield became a major issue for the club who were forced to climb down and apologise for a series of proposed price hikes across the stadium by vehement fan protest.
But the starting prices for the Anfield Dugout hospitality area at £3,000 for the season do not seem to have put off buyers. The area had 2,000 tickets available.
The club is selling the area as a concept that brings something a bit different to the traditional match day hospitality experience. Billy Hogan, chief commercial officer said: “The Dugout is a great concept for fans who want to add a little extra to their matchday experience. A sports bar atmosphere with great food from around the world – it’s never been seen before at Anfield so we’re not surprised by its popularity.”
The tickets include premium seating accessed via its own lounge area, complimentary food, a half time drink and a match day programme. The club will also ‘populate’ the area with its own former playing legends. Car parking is also part of the package if four or more tickets are bought.
No stone unturned
As part of the redevelopment of the area around Anfield, the club has applied for planning permission for a scheme for a granite walkway that is “designed to reconnect the stadium to nearby Stanley Park and the local community”.
Fans will be able to buy a personalised granite stone in the walkway with a message on it. The area would be themed celebrating key moments and players from the club’s history.
