July 5 – Manchester City have relaunched their website with a number of new features and at a new url, mancity.com. The new site is the result of a long consultancy process involving multiple rounds of focus groups, surveys, prototype designs, and user.
A Beta site was released in March with supporters were invited to test it and share their feedback, alterations were then made to make the site more intuitive and easier to use.
Designed principally around a mobile experience (rather than a desktop), the site is streamlined and enabled for all devices, with users being able to access their preferred content quickly.
New features include City Now, a continuous stream of quick, real-time news, opinions, and social highlights.
The club has boosted its CITYTV video offering saying: “Playlists will be curated based on fresh ideas and themes, delivered alongside a host of recommended, popular and recent videos.”
Diego Gigliani, SVP of Media and Innovation for City Football Marketing, said: “The time was right for a full revamp of our site, reflecting both the new expectations of our digital fans and our vision of where media consumption is heading.
“The main benefits of the new mancity.com can be described simply: more of the content you’ll love with a better overall experience. The site is mobile-first, video-rich, and features a range of content from across the club, our teams and players, our fan base and the wider football community. It adapts to the match cycles, makes it easier to discover trending or related content, and contains a fresh and modern design.”
