August 9 – Middlesbrough, newly promoted to the Premier League, have announced TLCBET as the club’s official betting and gaming partner as the club moves to take the market opportunity of exposure in Asia to the Asian betting community that the Premier League offers. No figure was announced for the deal.
TLCBET is an Asian facing sports betting operator. Operating online the bookmaker offers a range of sports markets as well as casino games.
Particularly successful in the Chinese market, TLCBET has become known for its innovative, often quirky, marketing campaigns. Last season TLCBET partnered with West Bromwich Albion where it had the shirt sponsorship position, but that deal ended when West Brom signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Chinese online casino operator the K8 Group which will see the UK-K8.com brand name on the club’s new shirt from 2016/17.
By buying into Middlesbrough sponsorship TLCBET is staying in the Premier League market while also looking to use the club brand to raise its profile globally, but also keep its core position in the Chinese market.
TLCBET Brand Director Mike Chong said: “It’s a great honour to partner with Middlesbrough Football Club as they embark on a new season in the Premier League. We’re delighted to be putting the TLCBET brand on the global stage and we are confident we can promote Boro in Asia…. We also hope to engage with fans across the world on what should be an exciting season ahead.”
TLCBET’s brand will appear on pitch-side LED advertising, the official club website and social media channels. The bookie will also offer hospitality and general admission tickets for games at the Riverside as part of various promotions.
Lee Fryett, Head of Partnerships said: “In TLCBET we feel we have secured a partner that shares the same growing aspirations as the Club and will help further enhance our growing reputation in Asia.”
