July 13 – Thomas Cook Sport will return as Arsenal FC’s official travel partner for the 2011/2012 football season, bringing an end to the club’s three-year deal with Thomson after just a season.
Thomas Cook was Arsenal’s travel partner for six seasons until the club signed a three-year deal with Thomson Sport in 2010, however this agreement was mutually terminated due to a change in strategic and business direction for Thomson Sport.
Thomas Cook Sport, which is the largest sports tour operator in the UK and exclusive travel partner of all Britain’s teams in the UEFA Champions League, renewed its collaboration with the Gunners to provide travel for supporters, teams and officials.
The company, which is a division of the official travel partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Thomas Cook, will also provide match breaks for domestic fixtures at The Emirates stadium, which include accommodation and a guaranteed match ticket.
“It’s fantastic news that Thomas Cook Sport are once again teaming up with Arsenal Football Club, meaning we’re now the official travel partner for the Premier League’s top seven clubs from last season,” said Danny Talbot, managing director of Thomas Cook Sport.
“This is true testament to our expertise, the hard work of our team and the fantastic customer service we provide, and we’re looking forward to once again picking up our great relationship with Arsenal Football Club and its fans.”
Thomas Cook Sport’s Champions League campaign starts with Arsenal FC’s qualifier which will be drawn on August 5, with the first leg played on August 16 or 17.
