December 13 – Germany’s Bundesliga is tweaking its brand look, modifying its distinctive white silhouetted player on the red background to clearly identify three different brand ‘divisions’ within the organisation.
The new look will come into operation in the 2017/18 season and, said the Bundesliga, is “particularly to accommodate digitisation requirements”. The original logo has been in use since 20013.
For the first time Bundesliga 2 will have its own logo, designed “to position it more clearly in its relations with fans, the media and sponsors and thus to additionally strengthen the profile of the competition.”
DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga will also have its own logo for the first time, identifying it as the league organisation and “as the core pillar of German professional football for political, social and business purposes.”
