September 21 – Yahoo! has agreed a deal with the League Managers Association (LMA) to renew their online media partnership, giving them access to a variety of video and print content from top Premier League managers such as Sir Alex Ferguson and Kenny Dalglish.
It builds on Yahoo!’s existing deal which gives them rights to show Premier League highlights, currently in its second year.
The American internet firm has the right to produce, write and broadcast exclusive interviews with members of the LMA under the agreement, with Bolton Wanderers coach Owen Coyle being the first featured interview this week.
The interviews will be hosted at www.yahoo.co.uk/dugout, and see a different manager discuss their football philosophy each week.
Yahoo! users will also have the chance to put forward questions to be posed to managers.
“The LMA is delighted to renew its partnership with Yahoo! and to be working with a brand of such global visibility,” said the LMA’s chief executive, Richard Bevan.
“We look forward to building the partnership throughout the season and delivering some great content from our members to Yahoo!’s users”
Andrew Cocker, Yahoo!’s European director of consumer marketing, added: “Our partnership with the League Managers Association gives Yahoo! a genuinely differentiated and authoritative voice to accompany our Premier League highlights.
“As the premier digital media company, Yahoo!’s investment in the LMA is consistent with our desire to deliver original and compelling content to our 27 million UK customers.”
