Bahamas warms-up for Beach Soccer World Cup with CONCACAF qualifiers

December 28 – The warm-up for the Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas in 2017 starts with the 2017 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship February 20-26 which will qualify two teams for the World Cup.

The Bahamas, pre-qualified as hosts as one of the three CONCACAF nations at the World Cup, will welcome 16 teams for the regional championship.

Teams will compete in round-robin play in four groups of four teams each.

The winner and runner-up from each group will play quarterfinals, with the third- and fourth-placed teams playing positioning matches over the final three match dates.

Barbados have replaced Guatemala in the competition. Gautemala is currently suspended from international play by FIFA.

The Beach Soccer World Cup will be played in April.
