Hammers pound out lead, Burnley find their mojo, Sunderland go dark

February 14 – West Ham lead the Premier League weekly attendance chart for Round 25 of the season – just 17 seats were reportedly unfilled at the London Stadium. Sunderland came bottom of the table with 9,069 unfilled seats at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland were the only home team in the Premier League to report an attendance of less than 90% of their capacity at 81.49%. By the end of their 4-0 loss to Southampton there were many less with the Saints travelling contingent singing they had “more than fans than you” as the north easterners streamed towards the exits.

Burnley, who at times have struggled to fill their stadium this season, had little difficulty for the visit of table topping Chelsea. Burnley’s home form has seen them win 29 of their 30 league points at Turf Moor.

Eight teams filled over 95% of their capacities – Middlesbrough were at 90.66%. With Sunderland the two north east teams had 12,316 of the 16,758 unfilled seats in the Premier League.

Insideworldfootball data is taken from the official stadium capacities and the official reported attendances and does not take any account for seat kills for media or safety reasons.
