Man Utd rubs its deal lamp and pulls out Aladdin partnership

March 1 – Manchester United has signed a global partnership deal with Malaysian-based e-commerce group Aladdin Group. The online trader will use the club as part of the global launch marketing of its aladdinstreet.com marketplace.

Aladdin Group covers both business-to-business and business-to-consumer markets via its websites and mobile apps. It offers local sales merchants a global business platform while offering shoppers the opportunity to buy from a global marketplace.  shopping experience to consumers worldwide.

Only “registered and certified” companies are allowed to trade on the AladdinStreet site which sells Halalan Toyyiban compliant products “sourced globally but delivered locally”.

Aladdin Group’s Co-founder and President, Dato’ Sri Desmond To said: “AladdinStreet.com will be rolling out its services globally in Q1/2017 by featuring products and services from Malaysia and Singapore in the initial stages with more coming on board from its network offices located in 30 countries worldwide in phase 1, which covers a population of approximately 4 billion consumers.

“Manchester United fans worldwide will soon be able to enjoy unique opportunities as well as experience unique benefits and privileges when they shop on AladdinStreet.”

No value was put on the three-year deal between the two parties.

Instead Manchester United’s Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold focussed on the changing nature of e-commerce and Man Utd’s global reach. “The way in which we shop has changed dramatically in the last decade and the growth in popularity of e-commerce gives customers access to a wide range of global products at the touch of a button,” he said.
