March 20 – Manchester United will tour the US for two weeks as part of their pre-season preparation in July, playing five games on the east and west coasts, most likely as part of the International Champions Cup (ICC) tournament.
No details of opposition have been announced apart from the naming of Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Santa Clara and Washington DC as cities in which they will play.
Further details are expected to be announced in the next few days, most likely when the ICC announce their US schedules for a competition that also has tournaments in play in China and Singapore featuring Europe’s top clubs.
Aon will be the Presenting Partner of Manchester United’s Tour 2017.
Manchester United’s Executive Vice Chairman, Ed Woodward, said: “Visiting North America will give the team the best possible preparation for the new season, using top class training facilities and playing in some great stadiums.
“We have witnessed first-hand the passion and support for the Club in the US in recent years, so naturally it is something that everybody is very much looking forward to this summer.”
Manchester United last played in the US in 2015 when they played Mexican giants Club America (in Seattle), San Jose Earthquakes (in California), Barcelona (in Santa Clara), and Paris Saint-Germain (in Chicago).
