April 21 – European furniture retail chain Conforama has signed a three-year title sponsorship with France’s Ligue 1. The deal, reportedly worth €10 million a season, will start with the 2017-18 championship and run though to the end of 2019-20.
This is the third title sponsorship the French Professional Football League (LFP) has announced this season having agreed deals for the Domino’s Ligue 2 and the newly launched e-sports league Orange e-Ligue 1. The LFP’s top league will be known as Ligue 1 Conforama.
Didier Quillot, Executive Managing Director at the LFP, said: “The LFP is very pleased to welcome Conforama as a title partner… for a win-win partnership. The media power of the Ligue 1 will allow Conforama to gain visibility at the national and international level during the nroadcast of matches. This partnership will also improve the visibility of the brand at the local level, through very comprehensive stadium branding on match days and in the context of various promotional or public relations activities.”
An LFP press release pointed out that 90% of French people live today less than 20 minutes from a Conforama store and 80% live less than 50 km from a professional club.
