May 4 – Tottenham Hotspur have released their SPVRS app for iOS and Android devices that takes users on a tour of the club’s currently being constructed new stadium using Virtual and Augmented Reality technology.
Next season Spurs will play at Wembley while their White Hart Lane stadium is rebuilt into a 61,000-seat venue for the opening of the 2018-19 season.
The free to download app comes with access to a printable tracker image which can be brought to life via a smart phone or tablet using Augmented Reality. This takes users to the centre circle of the pitch from where they are immersed in Virtual Reality and can take a 360-degree view of the inner bowl of the stadium.
The app also has a commercial function providing users who have bought a premium package in the new stadium with a Virtual Reality 360-degree view of their selected lounge or suite.
Other app features include an interactive stadium stats function as well as access to the Stadium News feed hosted on Tottenham Hotspur’s official website.
Emma Taylor, Head of Marketing, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “The SPVRS app will give our supporters a first look at our iconic stadium bowl and the opportunity to interact with a 3D digital stadium model. The app also allows our premium guests to see their new lounge or suite in 360 Virtual Reality.
Spurs have also installed a Virtual Reality immersion ‘tunnel’ at the club’s offices that allows premium and corporate ticket buyers to have a fully immersive VR experience of the packages for sale.
The SPVRS app can be downloaded from the iOS from the App Store or Google Play for Android users.
