September 10 – The failure of Barcelona to comprehend that they are in any way at fault for flouting the FIFA regulations designed to stop the exploitation and trafficking of children in football is once again apparent, even as the club, faced with the real possibility of a new transfer ban, decide to treat the issue as of “extremely high priority,” according to reports in the Spanish press.

September 10 – The leader of the Bulgarian political party ‘Movement 21’ Tatyana Doncheva announced on TV that Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski, member of the parliamentary group of the liberal ethnic Turkish party Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), are the real owners of top league club Levski through front men. According to her, Levski is most obvious example of political dependence in Bulgarian football.

Sabbath row could see football close down in Israel

September 3 – Football in Israel, already suffering from problems relating to the state’s relationship with Palestinine and racism at top clubs is facing a major crisis as the Israeli Football Association says it will cancel all league matches if a recent ban on playing on the Sabbath is not lifted.

After a 50 year wait, Welsh on verge of rewriting history

September 3 – The next few days are being touted as the defining moment in Welsh football history and it’s easy to see why.
Not since the 1958 World Cup have Wales reached a major tournament finals but qualifying victories away to Cyprus tonight followed by a home win over Israel on Sunday and Chris Coleman’s team will be in the hat for next summer’s Euro finals in France.
