September 26 – Four of Europe’s major clubs – Liverpool, Monaco, Inter Milan and Roma – are among a fresh list issued by UEFA as being under investigation for possible breaches of financial fair play.

September 26 – The construction of the Hristo Botev stadium in Plovdiv has restarted with the backing of the local city government. In July, construction work at the stadium was frozen after club owner Tsvetan Vasilev’s Corporate Commercial Bank was closed.

September 25 – The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has said that eight referees have been arrested in connection with fixing the number of yellow and red cards in matches. The investigation is focused on commercial bribery offences which carry a 4-6 year prison sentence.

September 25 – Diosgyori VTK is to launch construction of a new 15,000-seat stadium on its current site following the end of the 2014/2015 season. The Hungarian club from the city of Miskolc aims to open the new sports facility in 2016.

September 24 – Kiril Domuschiev (pictured), the owner of Bulgarian champions Ludogorets who are have qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history, said he expects club to achieve a small financial surplus at the end of the 2014.
September 24 – In one of the game’s more unusual takeovers, a Singapore businessman who not so long ago tried to buy Liverpool has agreed to enter into partnership with five former Manchester United players and taken a 50% share in a club playing in the eighth tier of English football.
September 23 – Leading Russian club CSKA Moscow are poised to introduce banning orders and take legal action to stop continued violence by their fans in European games “pushing us over the edge,” according to general director Roman Babayev.

September 19 – Gornik Zabrze supporters have set up a new entity, modelled on the associations of Spanish football clubs, aimed at acquiring an ownership stake in the Polish side. The latest move comes as a response to the continuing financial woes of Gornik which is controlled by the city of Zabrze.

September 19 – The Chagossians, a people forcibly displaced from the Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean, have launched a campaign on Indiegogo to raise the funds to send a team to play their first game outside of the UK against ConIFA member, Szekelyföld LE, a Hungarian-speaking minority group in Transylvania.
September 19 – UEFA are to introduce new rules to prevent players suffering possible concussion. With immediate effect, referees will be allowed stop matches for up to three minutes and the team doctor will decide if a player can continue under new procedures to be used in European competitions.
