July 23 – Former Botswana Football Association (BFA) general secretary Mooketsi Kgotlele has been banned for life by FIFA for accepting bribes in the latest serious misdemeanour to rock the image of African football.
UEFA pull Mechelen out of Europa League over matchfixing case
July 19 – European governing body UEFA has removed Belgian club KV Mechelen from the upcoming group stages of the Europa League as a result of its involvement in match-fixing last year.
Match-fixing: Georgia bans five as Kaladze promises tough justice for fixers
June 10 – Five players, who admitted their role in a matchfixing scam in Georgia, have all been banned. The five all play for FC Wit Georgia and have been named as Giorgi Getiashvili, Joni Sherozia, Nikoloz Maisuradze, Nodar Kiknavelidze and Paata Ghudushauri.
