April 27 – The far-reaching reform package which FIFA hopes will regain the trust of fans around the world has formally come into effect – but the soon-to-be-scrapped executive committee remains intact for a few more months.

April 27 – Tag Heuer has become the Premier League’s Official Timekeeper in a three-year deal announced simultaneously in London and Hong Kong. No official value for the deal was released but one estimate reckons it to be worth £7.3 million per season.

April 26 – The 96 Liverpool fans who died in Britain’s worst ever sporting disaster were unlawfully killed, the longest inquest case in British legal history dramatically concluded today.
April 26 – The first game to mark West Ham’s controversial move to London’s Olympic stadium that was the centre of world sporting attention in 2012 will be a friendly against newly crowned Italian champions Juventus.

April 26 – The Brazilian FA, the CBF, have kicked off a week of seminars discussing the future of Brazilian football. Brazil coach Carlos Dunga (pictured) and Italy coach Antonio Conte opened the proceedings.

Leicester City, 5000 to 1 outsiders at the start of the season to capture their first ever league title, will do exactly that if they win at Manchester United next weekend.

April 25 – The Nigerian soap opera continues as rival groups claim to represent the official Nigerian Football Federation – with the appointment of a dead referee as match official symptomatic of the chaos in the country’s football administration.
April 25 – Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in discussion about moving some of their home games next season to Wembley as capacity at White Hart Lane may be reduced by more than initially expected and at an earlier stage under the rebuild plans.
