July 3 – No sooner has the national team returned from the World Cup after exiting at the group stage than Nigerian football has been plunged into crisis off the field over the presidency of the federation (NFF).
June 29 – FIFA’s strict rules on government interference in the affairs of its member federations has been called into question in Ghana where reports suggest only government representatives – and not footballing officials – were called to today’s meeting in Zurich to discuss the corruption crisis in the African country.

June 29 – Over a generation has gone by since Pele famously predicted than an African team would win the World Cup by the year 2000. But if anything African football, which has long been clamouring for more World Cup slots, has gone backwards.
June 28 – Former Ghana Football Association chairman Nana Sam Brew-Butler has pulled out of crisis talks with FIFA over the future of the game in the African country.
June 27 – The fallout over the ban of disgraced Ghanaian football boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has intensified with FIFA reportedly inviting four members of the Ghanaian FA for crisis talks even though the federation has been dissolved by the government.
June 22 – A meeting between FIFA and Ghanaian officials, scheduled for today and aimed at restructuring the national FA after it was dissolved in the wake of the Kwesi Nyantakyi scandal, has been postponed indefinitely.

June 1 – Outgoing Liberian FA (LFA) president Musa Bility is clearly not as outgoing as people had expected, with FIFA having again recognised the controversial CAF committee member as leader of football in the country, for the time being.
May 29 – The rollercoaster that has been Danny Jordaan’s life in football was given another five-year ride over the weekend as he was elected unopposed as South African Football Association (SAFA) president, taking him through to 2022.
May 24 – Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi (pictured) surrendered to Ghanaian authorities yesterday for questioning after Ghana’s president ordered his arrest on charges of “defrauding by false pretences” after he was caught on video accusing the president of corruption.
May 23 – The Ivory Coast Football Federation (FIF) has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to review FIFA’s latest decision to audit the football body. The Ivorians are objecting that this is the second time in two months that FIFA has ordered an audit.
May 21 – The Ghana FA has agreed a five-year sponsorship deal with Zylofon Cash to become the headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League in a deal reportedly worth $2 million a season.
