Dumornay and Carrasquilla voted Concacaf players of the year

October 22 – In 2016 the United States Soccer Federation finally fell in line with the world in regard to youth soccer age classification. The previous system using the school calendar (August 1st cutoff) was consigned to the scrap heap and the birth year January (1st cutoff) became the defining factor.

October 16 – The USA will face Jamaica in the quarter finals of the Concacaf Nations League next month in a match that has the feeling of a must-win for both nations.
October 17 – For the first time in five years, Mexico have beaten their northern neighbours, USA, and to make it all the sweeter, by the scoreline of ‘Dos a Cero’, 2-0.
