September 3 – The coronavirus has reached parts that not even the US Justice Department could reach. Trinidad press is reporting that world football’s most wanted, Jack Warner (not Lionel Messi), has tested positive for Covid-19.

TTFA chair Hadad tells former boss Wallace to stop the lies and ‘do the right thing’

September 2 – The chair of the Trinidad and Tobago Normalisation Committee Robert Hadad has written to the former president of the TTFA William Wallace telling him he has “completely ignored the truth”, has conducted a campaign of “misinformation and disinformation”, and in his tone is “offensive” to the people of Trinidad.

September 1 – Despite calls from clubs, players and government to the ousted TTFA president William Wallace and his board to drop the legal complaint against FIFA in the Trinidad and Tobago courts, Wallace is refusing to back down and has written to confederation presidents and member associations with a plea for support.

MLS cancels mid-week matches to join protests against Jacob Blake shooting and US racism

August 27 – Major League Soccer cancelled five games that were due to be played on Wednesday (yesterday) joining a wave of boycotts in US sports, with NBA play-off games, baseball and tennis matches all called off in protest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin on Sunday.

August 26 – Caribbean travel restrictions and a compacted match calendar with few dates left have forced Concacaf to abandon the Caribbean Club Shield and Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship for 2020.

August 24 – William Wallace, removed from the presidency of the Trinidad and Tobago FA by a FIFA Normalisation Committee just three months after being elected to office, is not backing down in the dispute to have the legality of board’s removal contested in Trinidad rather than at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland.

August 21 – FIFA is not stepping back from its own statutes and rules of law and is maintaining that the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) is the correct forum for the ousted former Trinidad and Tobago FA leadership who have complained against their replacement by a Normalisation Committee.

FIFA suspends two more as Haitian sex abuse investigation escalates

August 20 – FIFA has suspended two more Haitian football officials and has extended a 90-day provisional ban meted out to federation (FHF) president Yves Jean-Bart while it investigates allegations of teenage girls being sexually abused at the national training centre, built with a FIFA grant.

Trinidad and Tobago teeter on brink of ban and 2022 exclusion after judge rules local law trumps FIFA’s

August 14 – Trinidad and Tobago High Court judge Carol Gobin has ruled against FIFA’s application to dismiss a lawsuit brought against it by former TTFA board members over their replacement with a normalisation committee.

August 11 – Former Concacaf president and FIFA vice-president Jack Warner’s attempted re-entry into public life in Trinidad and Tobago has ended as fast as it begun after he failed to win election as a member of parliament in the country’s just completed elections.
