Grp D: US and Panama square off in sold-out Kansas City

June 26 – The United States and Panama, two of Concacaf’s fiercest rivals, square off Wednesday for the right to win Group D at the Gold Cup and keep momentum going as they enter the business end of the tournament.

Apart from the occasional blip, the US has dominated matches between the pair with a 13-1-6 record but there is no doubting how much it must have hurt to see Panama strutting their stuff at the World Cup in Russia last summer after their own ignominious failure to qualify.

June 25 – With heroes all over the pitch, underdogs Haiti stunned Costa Rica with a dramatic  second-half comeback to win Group B at the Gold Cup tonight and condemn the joint tournament hosts and group seeds to ignominious defeat and a scary-looking quarterfinal clash with mighty Mexico.

June 25 – Footballing history was made today as tiny Bermuda marked their farewell to their first ever Gold Cup  appearance with a thoroughly merited 2-0 win over Nicaragua that will be celebrated throughout the island nation, do wonders for the development of the game there and represented a key landmark for the expanded tournament.
