June 22 – The International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) and the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering the prevention of and the fight against corruption in sport.
June 21 – Qatar has hit back at allegations of racism against one of its players in a match against New Zealand that led to the game being abandoned at half-time.
June 20 – In an unprecedented day of international action and following Gianni Infantino’s recent call to stop play in case of discrimination, New Zealand and Ireland’s U-21 team abandoned matches after allegedly facing racist abuse by Qatari and Kuwaiti opponents.

June 16 – Almost seven years after scrapping an anti-racism task force, declaring its work was complete, FIFA has recognised the issue is far from resolved by setting up a similar body, this time headed by recent abuse victim Vinicius Jr .

Snapdragon Stadium
First time Gold Cup host
Initially known in the planning stage as the Aztec Stadium, the 35,000 capacity Snapdragon Stadium is an outdoor facility located on the campus of San Diego State University.
Following the departure of the NFL’s Chargers, focus began on building a new stadium for the university’s American Football team the Aztecs that was modern.
The stadium broke ground in August 2020 and opened two years later in August 2022.
May 25 – LaLiga President Javier Tebas has issued an apology for his online rant at Vinicius Jr after the Real Madrid star said the Spanish league belonged to racists following the racist insults he suffered at Valencia last Sunday.
May 24 – In the aftermath of the Vinicius Jr racism scandal, La Liga will request greater power to punish incidents of racism in Spanish football.
May 3 – The Sports Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) has opened up applications for its 2023/24 mentorship programme for women, the fifth cycle of the initiative that aims at promoting future leaders and greater gender equity in the boardroom.
April 27 – SIGA will hold its fourth annual Sport Integrity Week – #SIW2023 – September 4-8. The event will again be a hybrid of webinars and in-person seminars.
