Newcastle ban papers after Triesman revelations

May 28 – Newcastle United have banned the Mail on Sunday as well as sister paper The Daily Mail from after the Sunday paper published details of Lord Triesman’s secretly recorded conversation which led to him being forced to step down as chairman of England’s bid for the 2018 World Cup.

Celebration match proposed for Jack Warner election success

May 26 – A match between Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica has been proposed to celebrate the re-election of FIFA Executive Committee member Jack Warner (pictured) as an MP in his country’s General Election, which saw a coalition of opposition parties, including Warner’s United National Congress (UNC), sweep to power.
