July 12 – Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe (pictured) has revealed that the governing body has opened discussions with broadcasters on the formation of an African Super League, repeating that Africa will learn from the mistakes of the European Super League debacle.

July 9 – Disaster has struck the Curacao team before a ball has been kicked in the Gold Cup group stages that start tomorrow (Saturday).
