November 14 – FIFA has changed its traditional model of delivering the greatest show on earth, the FIFA World Cup. Rather than working through a national Local Organising Committee, FIFA has mandated an increased level of management and delivery of the first 48-team, 104-match tournament to host cities.
May 22 – It may not be the grand farewell for Jurgen Klopp that Liverpool fans had hoped for, but Atalanta or Leverkusen will be crowned Europa League winners on Wednesday in the Irish capital.
September 24 – FIFA has begun an operational tour of the 16 host cities and stadia that will host the 2026 World Cup. The timing of the visits comes as doubts have been raised over whether the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, owned by Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke, will pull out of the event.
September 18 – The U.S. Soccer Federation is relocating from Chicago to Atlanta, where it plans to build a training centre and headquarters.
